8 Days Activ Jeep Safari: Nakuru, Naivasha, Masai Mara & Maji Moto

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, your driver with a name sheet is waiting for you. Together you start your bush adventure and drive to Nakuru: first stop at the Rift Valley Viewpoint, into which you then drive down. Arrival at your hotel in Nakuru in the late afternoon – 1 overnight at Eagle Palace Hotel (A).

After an early breakfast, go on a full day game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park: even if there are only a few flamingos due to the high water level, the visit is worthwhile because of many water birds, rhinosand Rothschild giraffes and the great view over the lake. Picnic at a beautiful place.

In the afternoon you leave the park and continue to Lake Naivasha, where you will reach your accommodation before sunset – 2 overnights at Elsamere Lodge (B/D).

After a delicious breakfast, drive to Hell’s Gate National Park and meet your guide. He will show you interesting things on the 3 hour’s walk (easy), past zebras, warthogs, antelopes, giraffesand monkeys. Picnic in the park. A visit to the sandstone gorge (around 1.5 hours, moderately difficult) rounds off the experience.

Your driver will then be waiting for you and will take you to Lake Naivasha, where you will take a boat ride on the lake in the light of the afternoon sun and watch hipposand many water birds up close.

Then you drive back to the lodge and can learn something more about the history of Elsamere (B/L/D).

After breakfast, continue to the famous Masai Mara via Loita Plans with a stop in Narok. In the afternoon you reach your lodge and discover hipposin the dammed river, zebras, giraffes and more on a short guided walk – 3 overnights at Amani Mara Lodge (B/L/D).

Decide together with your driver whether you would rather go on a full day game drive in the national reserve or do a long game drive after breakfast until lunch time to find rhinos, buffalo, hippos and crocodiles. Lunch at the camp and then time to rest or refresh in the pool. During afternoon game drive watch out for cheetahand leopard and other animals (B/L/D).

Today you will also discover the beauties of Masai Mara. If you come during the great animal migration, you have the chance to experience a river crossing of the wildebeest and zebra. But you will also get to see lion, buffalo, topi, elan antelope and many other animals.

In the evening you can enjoy the hospitality of your hosts and the view to the stars (B/L/D).

Once again you can enjoy the morning hours in the national reserve: after breakfast you take a leisurely game drive to Sekenani Gate and then drive another 1.5 hours until you reach the simple but loving Masai-led camp for lunch.

Afternoon nature walk with a Masai in the Loita Hills. Learn how the Masai make fire. Sitting around the campfire and exchanging stories. Completely untouristic and just beautiful.

After dinner you can take a bath in the hot springs – not only an experience when the moon is full – 1 overnight at Maji Moto Eco Camp (B/L/D).

After another cozy breakfast, you go on another guided walk in the Loita Hills. Then it’s time to bid farewell to the wilderness and the safari adventures.

Depending on the departure time of your flight, you will drive to Nairobi with picnic on the way to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you arrive in time for your return flight (B/L).
