Kenya and Tanzania are blessed with some of the most beautiful national parks of earth and paradise for animal and nature lovers.

We discover seven national parks on this trip - and in a relaxed way with overnight stays in beautiful lodges: Rare Rothschild giraffes, antelopes and maybe rhino encounter in Lake Nakuru National Park. In Masai Mara, we have great opportunities to observe the "Big Five" - ??if we do not see them here, then determined in the Serengeti; depending on the season is the animal density here and beyond the Kenyan-Tanzanian border higher, so does the inclusion of both parks in a journey necessarily make sense!

We experience romantic moments: When we are woken early in the morning at Lake Naivasha from the grunting of hippos and the singing of exotic birds or if we watch the sunset at Amboseli National Park with a Tusker beer in our hand, behind the snow-capped Kilimanjaro. We do guided game walks - at Crater Lake Sanctuary and at idyllic Lake Elementaita: On the latter, we are accompanied by a Masai, this very special people whose unique traditional rituals we will see by ourselves.

The wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater completes the journey - and our lodge is at the crater rim! You will be enchanted by East Africa!

Day 1  Departure from Germany
Your trip to East Africa begins with your flight from Frankfurt via Addis Ababa to Nairobi. To enable you to travel to the airport in an environmentally friendly manner, we have included a Rail & Fly ticket in your travel package.

Day 2  Nairobi - Lake Elementaita
We reach Kenya's capital at midday according to schedule. With a WORLD INSIGHT sign and a smile, your guide will be waiting for you! We leave the city directly behind us and drive with a stop at the Rift Vally view point to Lake Elementaita. This small jewel in the Rift Valley impresses with an enormous variety of species - especially the bird world of the lake is colorful. Our lodge with African flair is close to the lake and we enjoy from the terrace a magnificent view and nature! Accompanied by a Masai, we take a walk in the late afternoon (about 2 hours, easy) to follow the feathered nature. Come and have a culinary experience in Kenya: the evening at our welcome dinner; 150 km – 2 overnights at Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge (D).

Day 3  Lake Nakuru National Park - a full day!
Early in the morning we leave for the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park. Chances are good to meet predators such as leopards and lions. And many representatives of over 450 different bird species, too! At noon we relax with a picnic under an acacia in the middle of nature and with a view over the lake. Afterwards, we do not need to be lucky enough to see very rare pachyderms in the park: white and black rhinos! The park is home to another rare animal species: the Rothschild giraffe. Only a few hundred copies exist in Kenya and Uganda. Here in Lake Nakuru National Park they have found a safe refuge. Returning to our lodge is time to jump into the pool before enjoying dinner and ending the evening by the fireplace; 60 km (B/L/D).

Day 4  Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy your breakfast - in the light of the morning sun we can see different water birds at Lake Elementaita! At 08:00, we load our luggage into the bus and continue through the Rift Valley, stop in Narok, where we picnic on the edge of the Loita Plains until we reach our camp in the Masai Mara late afternoon. The next 3 nights we sleep in fixed, comfortable tents with real beds and private bath / WC. On our way to the accommodation, we already cross a part of the famous and beautiful wildlife sanctuary: giraffe, cheetah and gazelle wait for our visit! Our accommodations are all beautifully situated in nature. Whether it is with a view of the river or the savannah, a real safari feeling is always present; 280 km – 2 overnights at Sentrim Mara Tented Camp or Mara River Lodge or Mara Eden Safari Camp (B/L/D).

Day Maasai Mara National Reserve - a full day!
Nowhere is such a large animal kingdom as in the Masai Mara. Experience it today! As if they had been ordered, we meet wildebeest, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, topis, giraffes and elephants. And if we speak of "with some luck", we speak of "quite sure", we also meet the king of animals, the lion! Our game drives through the seemingly endless savannah to the Mara river, where we meet hippos and crocodiles. In the meantime, we are taking a picnic under a shady acacia. From the middle / end of July to the beginning of November, huge wildebeest and zebra herds come from Serengeti to Masai Mara. But also during the other seasons we will be overwhelmed by the animal observations! At around 5:30 p.m., we are back in our beautiful camp: Today the only thing to do is to enjoy the evening treats and a romantic starry sky (B/L/D).

Day Maasai Mara National Reserve - Lake Naivasha
In the midst of this magnificent nature, it is easy for us to get up early. Before breakfast and sunrise, we will look for spotted hyenas and other predators during our game drive. Who has booked a balloon trip (optional) starts the day already at around 04:00 in the morning. To visit a Masai village we meet again. We want to learn about the art and culture of the Masai. An English-speaking Masai from the village accompanies us on our tour through the narrow dark dwellings and explains many peculiarities of this fascinating people. Around noon we drive back - over bumpy slopes to Lake Naivasha. Our arrival is planned for the early evening: We expect a Kenyan buffet and a comfortable bed; 220 km – 2 overnights at Elsemere Lodge or Lake Naivasha Kongoni Lodge, Crecent Camp or Crater Lake Tented Camp (B/L/D).

Day Lake Naivasha
Take advantage of the beautiful morning: If you feel like taking a walk in the magnificent nature of the surroundings of our lodge before breakfast, Strengthened we then go on foot on tour: We undertake a guided game walk (about 3 hours, easy) in the Crater Lake Reserve. No fear - there are no dangerous predators here, so we gaze at giraffes, antelopes and the colorful bird world from a different perspective. We also learn about the geology, flora and fauna of the Rift Valley from our local guide who accompanies us in addition to our tour guide. The afternoon is yours: time for a good book, for a boat trip on Lake Naivasha (optional) or for pastries and a cup of tea at Elsamere Conservation Center - "it's tea time" at Adamson's House, the well-known animal protectionist (B/L/D).

Day 8  Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park
Lean back: The long, but beautiful drive to Amboseli National Park takes about 6 hours. On clear sight we will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro! In the late afternoon we will do a game drive through the small but very picturesque national park. The landscape, in which a rich animal world feels home, is charming and varied: thanks to the open roof of our vehicle, everyone has a great view - latest when a large herd of elephants stirs up dust in front of our vehicle, we feel rather in the middle. Our camp this day is fantastic! Enjoy in the expanse of the savannah a bath in the pool, African treats for dinner and unique views! For this, perhaps a Tusker beer, also called "elephant beer", which is almost part of a safari; 340 km – 1 overnight at Kibo Safari Camp or Sentrim Amboseli (B/L/D).

Day 9  Amboseli National Park - Lake Manyara National Park
Before breakfast, a jump into the pool? We use the morning for another game drive, before we continue to the border to Tanzania: Our guide will help us with the formalities and also the visa we get quickly. Our luggage goes to jeeps and we welcome our new drivers and tour guides from Tanzania. Our further three-hour trip takes us through the fertile landscapes around Arusha, where coffee, sisal, cereals, coconut and cut flowers are cultivated. In the afternoon we reach Lake Manyara - because our selected accommodations are simply fantastic, the rest of the day is yours: Forget all the stress and enjoy Africa pure from the veranda of our camp; 300 km – 1 overnight at Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp or Migunga Forest Tented Camp (B/L/D).

Day 10  Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti Nationalpark
We start the morning with an exciting game drive at Lake Manyara National Park and experience a huge variety of flora and fauna in a small space! The chances for sighting of lions are particularly good, but also flamingos find the best conditions in search of food on the lake. Depending on the season, the long-legged birds cover the lake with a pink feather carpet - an incomparable sight! Afterwards, we drive along worth seeing volcanoes to the famous Serengeti National Park. The Park is rightly one of the most important protected areas on earth: 3 million mammals call the Serengeti their home. Our home for the next two nights: Beautiful tented camps in the middle of the wilderness; 190 km – 2 overnights at Serengeti Acacia Tented Camp or Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp or Lobo Wildlife Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 11 Serengeti National Park
We are doing full day game drive: the chances of seeing lions, buffaloes and other big animals are great! With a little luck we can even spot a leopard, who usually dusts in trees during the day. The birds of the savannah are usually rather plainly dressed. Only the colorful male weavers, who erect their artful nests at the ends of branches, are true colors. When, how and where we lunch today depends on us - either as a lunch package in the shade of the acacias or at the camp! For sunset we are after many great animal observations definitely back, in the luggage certainly unforgettable recordings! From afar, in the evening, we may hear the laughing of hyenas and the growling of the lions in the cozy gathering at the camp fire (B/L/D).

Day 12 Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Animals are early risers and so we start again directly after sunrise with a short game drive (alternatively: also in the Serengeti you can book a flight with the hot air balloon this morning). After breakfast at our camp, we pack our things and then go on game drive to the southern Serengeti. Here the grass is usually very short and hardly a bush or tree manages to dig its roots deep enough into the hard ground. An ideal area for cheetahs and gazelles. Both excellent sprinters, who prefer to live in this region, because lions or leopards in the almost uncovered area have little chance to hunt succesfully. Then we leave the Serengeti and drive up the Ngorongoro Highland. We reach our splendidly situated accommodation in the late afternoon: the expanse of the Milky Way and the sounds of an African night round off our exciting day; 140 km – 1 overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 13  Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
At dawn we drive down Ngorongoro Crater (UNESCO World Heritage Site). On the crater floor, we are on the "Big Five" game: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros and buffaloes. But also hippos, wildebeest and gazelles as well as many birds live here in a confined space. Only giraffes are not able to climb the steep crater walls. We picnic in the crater itself, take a stop at the graves of Michael and Bernhard Grzimek, continue through the fertile area of Karatu and then stop at Rift Valley Viewpoint. Towards early evening we reach the lively Arusha. Our accommodation is situated in the middle of a beautiful garden: Time to relax! If you want to go out after dinner in the city, our guide has tips for you; 150 km – 1 overnight at Karama Lodge or Zawadi House (B/L/D).

Day 14 Arusha - Flight to Germany (Possibility for beach extension)
You can plan the morning according to your own wishes. How about a stroll through the city or a visit of a coffee plantation (optional)? At noon, your guide will take you to the airport of Kilimanjaro and via Addis Ababa you will fly back to Germany; 60 km (B).

Day 15 Arrival in Germany
We land in Frankfurt in the morning. If you are not from the Main metropolis, use your included Rail & Fly ticket to get to your home town in an environmentally friendly manner.

Beach extension
When for you the sea, beach and sun are marvelous, then we are definitely ready to assist you with the hotel bookings at the beach.

The colorful spice island of Zanzibar with picturesque bays and its cultural and historical treasures is the best choice for that.

A wonderful addition to your safari!

Your security is our priority!
