"I had a farm in Africa ..." a quote from Danish writer Karen Blixen, who woke the dream of Kenya in us. With this safari, we want to provide new insights into Kenya: goose bumps are guaranteed in many places - encounters with the people, cultural and natural experiences as well. So we start from  colorful Nairobi in the high plateau of Mount Kenya massif. Visiting a tea and/or coffee farm is a first glimpse into productive Kenya. Many private sanctuaries surround this region. We visit one of these - Ol Pejeta - a private reserve, which is with more than 100 black rhinos the world's most important protected area for this endangered species and is dedicated to the protection of endangered chimpanzees, too. We continue to the land of Samburu, a tribe closely linked to the famous Masai culture. An area that has one of the most beautiful landscapes in Kenya and is home to many wildcats. We reach Rift Valley and explore Lake Naivasha actively on foot and by boat the wilderness. The visit to one of the numerous flower farms gives an insight into where the roses and cut flowers originate in German discount markets. A school visit to a primary school is as much part of the authentic experiences as the night in Masai country in the unique Maji Moto Eco Camp. Of course, on this trip, we also intensively experience the famous savannah of Masai Mara - an African dream of the "Big Five" will come true! By flight you will travel to the dreamlike coast of Kenya. Delicacies with Swahili influence sweeten here 4 wonderful beach days ... Forget the time and dream!

Day 1   Flight to Nairobi
In order to be able to travel easily to Frankfurt Airport, we have included a Rail & Fly ticket in your travel package. With a renowned airline you fly to Nairobi. Depending on time of arrival we will provide a room for you.

Day 2   Nairobi - Laikipia Plateau
We leave Nairobi directly in direction of Mount Kenya. For late lunch, we will visit one of the typical coffee and/or tea farms and see how these products are grown and harvested in the countryside. Afterwards we drive to Petra's farmhouse: Here we meet a German woman, who has realized her dream of Africa at the foot of Mount Kenya. The large farmland invites you to walk in the middle of beautiful nature, to relax, but also to ride on horses (optional); 200 km -
2
overnights at Sandai Farm ★★(★) (M/A).

Day 3   Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Early in the morning, we leave for nearby Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which is one of the main attractions around Mount Kenya and Nanyuki. Today is devoted to extensive animal watching and the chances are good to meet with predators like lions. Furthermore, we are encountering in the private reserve the endangered black rhinos and the also strongly threatened white rhinos, which are given special protection here. Normally, at the chimpanzee sanctuary you have some fun - they were brought to Ol Pejeta because they were held elsewhere as pets or attractions or killed. The now socialized families and individuals have touching stories and the visit of this sanctuary is an impressive moment. After another exciting day, we return to the farm, where a hot shower and a delicious homemade dinner await us at the crackling fireplace; 70 km (B / L / D).

Day 4   Laikipia Plateau - Samburu National Reserve
On our early drive to the north of Kenya, we repeatedly caught a glimpse of the imposing peak of Mount Kenya. Then the road descends and we head into a hot and arid land - Samburu! It goes through the former emigrant city Isiolo. Camels, cows, sheeps and goats are the lifeblood of Samburu people, which has nomadic roots and are closely linked to the famous Masai culture. The Ewaso Nyiro, which is the life line of the region, means in the language of the Samburu "river of the brown water". It flows directly through Samburu National Reserve, which is our next safari highlight. Already on the way to our lodge, we discover the first herds of elephants. If we are lucky they may come close to our vehicles with their children - red from the dust of the earth! Samburu National Reserve is known for its intense encounters with Africa's wildlife. Picnic is taken on the way, so there is enough time for animal watching before we reach our accommodation in the early evening; 180 km – 2 overnights at Sentrim Samburu Tented Camp ★★(★) or at Samburu Sopa Lodge ★★★ in Samburu National Reserve (B/L/D).

Day 5   Samburu National Reserve - a whole day!
The day today is marked by two very special animals: nowhere else in Kenya is there a better way to observe leopards or cheetahs than in Samburu National Reserve. Getting up early is worthwhile. During noon when it is hot one can relax, when we return to the accommodation. In the afternoon we return to the bush and down to the river: where once more big elephant families bathe in the water and the impalas enjoy the cool water. Forests line the river and the beautiful Grevy zebras are in perfect position for a photo (B/L/D).

Day 6   Samburu National Reserve - Naivasha
Today we continue to the Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha. We start at 8 a.m. round Mount Kenya once again. The equator stop is already overdue and today we are setting a short photo stop here. Thomson waterfalls are also a must in the program, where we enjoy our picnic with a small rainbow over the falls. We then continue to Lake Naivasha, because we want to reach our campsite with the restaurant connected before sunset. A wonderful view of the lake and the nature of Rift Valley round off this day. Local specialties are served steaming and the cooler evening hours are expelled by a warming fire before we retreat to the cozy 2-person tents; 210 km – 3 overnights camping at "THE POT @ Panda" near Naivasha (B/L/D).

Day 7   Hell’s Gate Nationalpark
Once again we get up with the first birdsong: get into the hiking boot! We drive around the lake to the famous Hell's Gate National Park. We walk through the bush and are on level with warthogs, gazelles and zebras (2-3 hours, easy). Masai giraffes pass us majestically and heartbeest perform joyfully jumps. After a picnic, those who still feel fit can go to the gorge (the Hell's Gate) and admire the magnificent formations of the volcanic landscape (1.5 hours, medium difficulty). If you want to go back to the swimming pool at the campsite, you can refresh yourself and wait for a good cup of Kenyan coffee for the fellow travelers (B/D).

Day 8   Around Naivasha
Today we go to the classroom: we visit a typical primary schools in the outskirts of a small industrial town. We are accompanied by a dedicated project manager who brings us closer to the concept of this small school in the poor quarter. The cheerfulness of the children is infectious and the teachers' effort to see. The local market in Naivasha can not be missed. If you are still looking for a boat trip on Lake Naivasha, you can finish the day with the grunting of the hippos (optional). Once again typical Kenyan food is waiting for us and we look over the chef's shoulder in the African pots (B/D).

Day 9   Naivasha - Maji Moto
After breakfast, we visit one of the surrounding flower farms to see where the roses come at the discounters in Germany - an interesting insight into the working conditions in Kenya! Then we reach the world of the Masai in Maji Moto - a secluded oasis with authentic villages in a magnificent savannah landscape! Here we get to know the traditional life of the Masai at first hand. We move with one of these majestic warriors or tribal chiefs through the countryside that surrounds the camp. The next night we sleep again in simple tents with shared showers. But the simplicity is the most charming at this camp and the tranquility of the Masai staff the icing on the cake. In the evening it is possible to bathe in the hot springs: Of course women and men separately - according to tradition. The soft singing of the Masai at the crackling fire weighs us to sleep; 280 km – 1 overnight camping at Maji Moto Eco Camp in Loita Hills (B/L/D).

Day 10 Maji Moto - Masai Mara
Cowbells of Masai cow herds ring with sunrise. We have a simple but hearty breakfast. Afterwards we learn from the Masai even more about their culture and tradition, which is kept like a treasure. We can also try to sift with sisal leafs and archery. A fun for all who are there. Then we continue to Masai
Mara. The next three nights we spend here in the endless grasslands and plains of the national reserve. We admire the animal herds and the unique sceneries of wild Africa. At noon we do a picnic during our game drives, before we set off again for new adventures. At the campfire we share our impressions under the boundless starry African sky; 70 km – 3 overnights at Mara Eden Safari Camp ★★★, at Mara River Lodge ★★★ or at Sentrim Mara Tented Camp ★★★ in or at Masai Mara National Reserve (B/L/D).

Day 11 & 12 Masai Mara National Reserve - two whole days!
In the midst of this glorious nature, the next two days are easy for us to get up early. Before breakfast and sunrise, we are looking for spotted hyenas and other predators. For those who have booked a balloon safari including sparkling wine breakfast (optional, booking in advance, credit card payment on site) starts the day already at 4 a.m. For late lunch we return to our camp or we picnic under an acacia tree near Mara river. Other game drives lead us to the lion packs, which are sleeping after eating under a bush in the shade. At sunset we are back at our accommodation (B/L/D).

Day 13 Masai Mara - Diani Beach
One last time we wake up early, then after breakfast we drive back to Nairobi to fly from there to the coast of Kenya. We are located on the magnificent sandy beach of the Indian Ocean. When it gets dark, the stars glitter through the palms - a first romantic dinner by the sea and we have a lot of anticipation for the coming beach days; 350 km – 4 overnights at Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Resort ★★★ at Diani Beach or at Amani Tiwi Beach Resort ★★★ at Tiwi Beach (B/D).

Day 14-16 Diani Beach
Enjoy wonderful relaxing days! Never tired may book optional excursions: drive in a traditional Dhow for snorkeling, visit Mombasa or nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve to find the sable antelopes that are located only there in Kenya - you have the choice (B/D).

Day 17 Diani Beach - Flight back to Frankfurt
Got a nice teint and well recovered? Depending on the time of departure, there is still time for a last bath in the sea or a beach walk. In time you will be picked up at the hotel by your transferguide and transferred to Mombasa Airport. From here you fly back to Frankfurt with a renowned airline; 40 km (B).

Day 18 Arrival at Frankfurt
Depending on the time of arrival, you land early morning or at around noon in Frankfurt. With your included Rail & Fly ticket you can travel comfortably back to your home town.

(B = Breakfast / L = Lunch / D = Dinner)
